Prices for a private driver service from Milan to Lake Garda are calculated according to the distance (in km), the cost of fuel, any tolls to be paid, the salary of a professional driver, insurance costs and 10% VAT (included). The amounts shown on our price list may vary depending on:

DO YOU NEED AN INVOICE OR A RECEIPT?
We can issue both invoices and receipts. We work reliably and professionally, and all our services comply with the current legislation on private driver and taxi hire. Unlike taxi services, which are not required by law to issue any kind of receipt, private chauffeur companies are legally obliged to issue proper documentation.
HOW AND WHEN TO PAY THE DRIVER?
It is possible for you to pay a private car or minivan driver in cash. We also accept all credit cards, as well as bank transfers. When preparing your free quote, we can select the best payment method and offers for you, according to the type of service required.
CAN I CANCEL THE SERVICE?
For any changes that cannot be accommodated (such as departure time, destination, or number of passengers) or cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours before the start of the service, a 50% refund of the total amount will be issued. For changes or cancellations made less than 72 hours before the service begins, no refund will be provided.
TAX DEDUCTIONS
When using one of Como Driver Services’ private chauffeurs, you may deduct the cost of the service in your personal or company tax declaration, if your tax system allows it. Upon payment, our driver will issue a receipt or an invoice, that you can then use for your tax deduction. Please check with your accountant to learn more about tax deductions for private transfers.
COMMUNICATION AND WAITING TIMES
All our drivers are native Italian speakers, but they also speak good English, so chatting and getting around won’t be a problem. The journey by car from Milan to the most popular destinations on Lake Garda (Sirmione, Desenzano, Peschiera, Bardolino, or Riva del Garda) mainly follows the A4 motorway towards Venice, one of the busiest highways in Northern Italy. In ideal conditions, the southern part of the lake can be reached in about one and a half hours, but during summer weekends or spring holidays, traffic can slow down significantly as early as the Brescia area. The arrival is well worth it: Sirmione welcomes visitors with its Scaliger Castle rising from the water, Desenzano with its lively lakeside promenade and nightlife, while further north the scenery becomes almost alpine, with steep cliffs plunging into the lake and colorful villages overlooking small harbors.
The real challenges begin in the final stretch. Many towns around the lake have historic centers closed to traffic, limited parking, and narrow streets that can quickly become congested during peak season. Finding a parking spot in Sirmione or Riva del Garda in August can require both time and patience, not to mention the high costs.
Public transport also has its limitations: trains conveniently reach Desenzano and Peschiera, but getting to other destinations requires crowded buses or ferries with schedules that need careful planning. During peak months, the combination of international tourism, local traffic, and limited infrastructure makes traveling between Milan and the towns around Lake Garda quite challenging.
