DO YOU NEED AN INVOICE OR A RECEIPT?
We can issue both invoices and receipts. We work reliably and professionally, and all our services comply with the current legislation on private driver and taxi hire. Unlike taxi services, which are not required by law to issue any kind of receipt, private chauffeur companies are legally obliged to issue proper documentation.
HOW AND WHEN TO PAY THE DRIVER?
It is possible for you to pay a private car or minivan driver in cash. We also accept all credit cards, as well as bank transfers. When preparing your free quote, we can select the best payment method and offers for you, according to the type of service required.
CAN I CANCEL THE SERVICE?
For any changes that cannot be accommodated (such as departure time, destination, or number of passengers) or cancellations made between 7 days and 72 hours before the start of the service, a 50% refund of the total amount will be issued. For changes or cancellations made less than 72 hours before the service begins, no refund will be provided.
TAX DEDUCTIONS
When using one of Como Driver Services’ private chauffeurs, you may deduct the cost of the service in your personal or company tax declaration, if your tax system allows it. Upon payment, our driver will issue a receipt or an invoice, that you can then use for your tax deduction. Please check with your accountant to learn more about tax deductions for private transfers.
COMMUNICATION AND WAITING TIMES
All our drivers are native Italian speakers, but they also speak good English, so chatting and getting around won’t be a problem. Your driver will take you wherever you need to go and wait for you for the whole duration of your booking. They’re there to help with anything you need and to take you anywhere around Lake Garda.

The drive from Milan to Varenna is relatively short (around 80 kilometers) but offers a gradual transition from urban surroundings to lakeside landscapes. The journey begins along the SS36 towards Lecco, a fast road that can be busy during peak hours, before continuing along the eastern shore of the lake, where the pace changes completely. The road becomes narrower, curves follow one another, and the scenery opens up to stunning views of water and mountains.
Varenna welcomes visitors with its charming village atmosphere, colorful houses overlooking the lake, the famous Lovers’ Walk, and attractions such as Villa Monastero, making it one of the most picturesque destinations on Lake Como.
The main challenges arise in the final stretch and during peak season. Reaching Varenna by car can be difficult due to heavy traffic on the SS36 and the narrow lakeside roads, with limited parking that is often already full, especially on weekends and during the summer months.
Public transport also has its limitations: trains connect Milan directly to Varenna via a scenic route, but during busy periods they can become very crowded, making the journey less comfortable, especially with luggage. Local buses and ferries provide additional options, but they require careful planning and can involve long waiting times.
